I almost forgot that I have a blog!I know that I took a long hiatus but now I am back. Juggling my first job and creating content was a challenge. But now I have found a way to balance both of them and I cant wait to share many recipes and reviews to you my lovely readers.

My heart sank when I learnt that the former Charlie’s was no more. I was fond of that place, I particularly loved their shakes! But it seems like they had another plan in  mind. They recently opened a new restaurant at the heart of Nairobi CBD along Wabera street. This is the same building where Nakumatt City Hall used to be.

Their decor is to die for!The food was also very delicious with a good portion and after ordering, you get it on time. I had a beef steak, accompanied with mashed potatoes and some salad. This was 950 Kenya Shillings.20180916_134908[1]They serve both alcoholic and non- alcoholic drinks.I opted for a strawberry frappe and it blew my mind! Its not just one of those drinks which are strawberry flavored but they used real fruits. I was so impressed with their menu drinks range from 200 to 650 Kenya Shillings.I ordered a send drink which was called Bob Marley I guess its because of the color arrangement which resembles a Rastafarian.

The experience was mind blowing and if you are looking for a new joint hang out and dine, I would recommend you visit the restaurant soon.

easy weeknight dinners.png

Ever since I started baking, I have never bought bread.A typical breakfast would always include home-made bread because its fresh from the oven, and very convenient for me.

This braided white bread  recipe included the following ingredients.

4 cups of all purpose flour

1 and a half tbsp of yeast

1 tsp of salt

4 tbsp of melted margarine/butter

1 cup of warm water

1/2 a cup of sugar

In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar, water and yeast.Stir and allow to proof until the yeast resembles a creamy form.Add salt, margarine, and flour then start kneading.Knead until its smooth then, place in a well oiled bowl keeping it covered with a kitchen towel for 1 hour.

After the dough has doubled in size, remove in the bowl and knead in a clean surface for a few minutes.Divide it into three balls, then form a long string of dough for braiding as shown below.

Leave the braided dough to proof again for 20 minutes then bake at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
